SUPERMAN (1978) - SFX Superman Flying Miniature

A Superman (Christopher Reeve) SFX flying miniature from the production of Richard Donner's Superman. Special effects shots of Superman flying through the sky were accomplished with detailed miniatures.

This resin model miniature with arms outstretched features Superman's iconic blue, red, and yellow Kryptonian costume painted on and a red fabric cape affixed with a yellow "S" wrapped around the neck. There are small holes in the front and back of the model's head through which a filament was passed to control movement. Its back is also hollowed out to accommodate a mechanism that makes the cape flap. This miniature comes attached at the waist to a black wooden display stand. Also included is an acrylic display base labelled "Superman The Movie Flying Miniature." The miniature exhibits paint flaking on the boots and face with minor pilling to the cape. Dimensions: (displayed) 16 cm x 11 cm x 21.75 cm (6.25" x 4.25" x 8.5")
