Lot 4 - (c.1792-94) Kentucky Cent Plain Breen-1155 PCGSAU58 BN
(c.1792-94) Kentucky Cent. Plain edge Breen-1155. The Kentucky "cent" is actually a part of the English Conder series of tokens from about 1792 to 1794. Each star in the triangle represents an American state, identified by its initial letter. These pieces are called Kentucky Cents because of their size and because the letter K (for Kentucky) happens to be at the top. The most affordable variety has a plain edge, others come with a lettered edge.

Glossy medium brown with frosty lighter brown toning in protected areas and tiny speckles of darker olive toning scattered about both sides. No spots or notable marks, only a light rub on the highest points from mint state. A careful examination also reveals a few peeps of faded mint red on both sides. Nice eye appeal for the grade. (#614)
