Unleashed in an unspecified locale, our gigantic lottery hero runs amuck, map in hand and camera at the ready, for the fourteenth drawing in the name of Travel. In 1935, Derouet co-founded, with Jean Carlu and Leonetto Cappiello, the Club de la PublicitÈ. His ingenuous, nearly cartoon-like style brought him recognition, and he produced a great many posters for films, products and events, many of them in conjunction with Lesacq, who lost his life during the German siege of Dunkerque the year following this design’s conception.
