An acclaimed photojournalist, Barris photographed Monroe on the set of the film. He took several later portraits of the troubled star, becoming her confidant in the final weeks of her life.

This photograph was taken in September 1954 on the corner of New York's Lexington Avenue and 52nd Street. It captures Monroe as she posed for photographers in her famous billowing white dress during the filming of the subway grate scene.

The black-and-white portrait is printed on silver gelatin and displayed in a cream-color cardboard photo mount. Barris' signature appears on the bottom right. Dimensions: 19.75" x 15.75" x 0.25" (50 cm x 40 cm x 0.5 cm)
