Lot 340 - 1862 Liberty Seated Half Dime PCGS MS64
1862 Liberty Seated Half Dime. Light die clash. Beautiful toning. The devices were struck with such force and clarity by the dies that all design elements show boldly in Liberty's dress as well as the shield. The attractive new wreath (first seen on the half dime in 1860) is one of two so-called Wreaths of Cereal by noted die maker and engraver, James B. Longacre. The other occurs on the 1856-8 flying eagle cents. Lustrous, choice, and carefully preserved. (#4381)
