<b>1780 Receipt For Horses Supplied By Pennsylvania to the Continental Army.</b>
Manuscript Document, September 5, 1780, Lebanon, 7.25” x 7.75”, Fine. Acknowledging receipt of “Philip Marsteller ADQMst for Lancaster County Thirty nine Horses... which I agreed to take to the American Army and deliver them to Timothy Pickerin Esqr. QM General or his Assistant for the use of the Continental Army...” A note at the bottom acknowledges receipt of “Six thousand Dollars of P Marsteller for which I am to account.” Both signatures of the person receiving the horses and money have been cut out. The docket mentions “Capt Borvan, Paymaster in the 9th Pensilanian Righment/ Maijor Glaiburn/ General Greens Aid.”
