Cassandre’s genius was for equating his client’s product or service with perfection, with absolute standards. In this classic example, the message is that as surely as the compass points north, the Chemin de Fer du Nord is the way to get there. The idea is reinforced by a visual analogy between the compass needles and the point formed by the converging rails.
