Colonial America
Rare Boston Printing: “A Sermon Delivered at Nassau-Hall, January 14. 1761. On the Death of His Late Majesty King George II”

1761 Booklet, “A Sermon Delivered at Nassau-Hall, January 14. 1761. On the Death of His Late Majesty King George II” by Samuel Davies, Fine.
7” x 4.75,” 32 pages, printed by R. Draper and Z. Fowle and S. Draper of Boston. Disbound, still with the original (but separated) front, paper cover. Normal age toning, nice and clean otherwise. The Preface includes “...A brief Account of the Life, Character, and Death, of the Author” by David Bostwick. Davies was the “Late President of the College of New Jersey.” In 1761, America was still generally in love with their British King, so Davies’ words were kind and benevolent. This was to change, just a few years later, when George the Second’s wacky son, George the Third, began oppressing his American Colonies.
