THE MUMMY RETURNS (2001) - Static Book of the Living

A static Golden Book of the Living from Stephen Sommers' action-adventure sequel The Mummy Returns. At the Hamunaptra excavation site, Meela Nais (Patricia Velasquez) blew sand off the recovered tome, also known as the Golden Book of Amun-Ra, stating that it takes life away.

The solid book is made of cast resin and features sporadic curved lines; scarab reliefs; a front cover decorated with a circular static lock that features a sun-shaped key impression and a central Eye of Ra insignia; and an Egyptian hieroglyph on the back. It is mostly finished in gold paint, with applied gold leaf, to give the impression it was crafted from pure gold, while the static embellished spine, vulture-like clasps and lock are painted in a tarnished bronze colour.

The book has been intentionally distressed for production and features clusters of sand glued to the corners and crevices of the cover, lock, and spine. It also exhibits additional paint wear and flaking of the gold leaf from production use and age. Dimensions: 37 cm x 39 cm x 12 cm (14 1/2" x 15 1/2" x 4 3/4")

Estimate: GBP 15000 - 30000 M
