Here’s an interesting lithographic oddity: the real estate poster. As the world makes its slow march towards internet-niched salesmanship, it’s comforting to see a momento from the time when poster promotion was as technologically advanced as advertising got. Of course there’s mention here of all the amenities that the parceled land in the village of Verrieres-le-Buisson has to offer–exceptional landscapes, byway-accessible, fruit-baring trees, beautiful park, watery views. But it’s Bonis’ autumnal bounty that makes getting away from citified living seem like the best idea going. Portraits and historic paintings were the speciality of Bonis. With Henri Martin, he collaborated on the design of two large chambers at the entrance of the Paris’ City Hall.
