"Among the most enlightened companies of its day, LefËvre-Utile sought many ways to popularize its products, among them posters prepared by top artists. Here, we see an assortment of decorative boxes and toys the company used to attract youthful clientele, some of whose adorable members are obviously responding to the bait–an equally sure lure for mothers interested in pleasing their offspring” (Gold, p. 42). Bocchino’s several designs for LefËvre-Utile had a wholesome feel about them; he was the Norman Rockwell of the biscuit world as this image makes clear.
