It wasn’t often that portrait painter and illustrator Bloch made forays into poster art, but when he did, he definitely proved his mettle in the medium. He also displayed a taste for women in extravagant dress when ever he did exercise his lithographic option. Case in point, his design for the Raoul clothiers, a Cambrain purveyor of women’s wear whose taste for feminine dress obviously leaned towards the excessive as well. No doubt, the rendered emerald effluvium seen here was a promotional gift for the clients of this apparel boutique.
