A very peculiar variant of this Adeline design, and a peculiarly lovely one as well, with its delicately hand-colored crayon and ink over lithographic impression. The planned charity feast at Rouen features something called “Smart Cats,” but exactly what that was eludes us. It may have been trained domestic felines, or possibly a lion taming act–that head in the circle might possibly be a lion be a lion–but the poster throws no further light on the affair. As every good poster designer known, curiosity about something unknown attracts more customers than cut-and-dried facts.
