What a pity that the designer of this tasty Art Deco promotion for Columbia’s No. "97” portable gramophone didn’t take credit for their creation, for credit certainly deserves to be given. The impeccable composition is impetus enough for praises to be heaped, but the nearly photographic rendering of the early hi-fi is exceptional, providing a clear black-and-white anchor against a duo-tone wash for the happy-go-lucky narrative to play itself out–remember, nothing rounds out an angular life like a spring in your step, a quality puff and a portable record player.
