JAMES BOND: DR. NO (1962) - Honey Ryder's (Ursula Andress) Bathrobe

Honey Ryder's (Ursula Andress) bathrobe from Terence Young's Bond film Dr. No. After being apprehended and taken to Dr. No's compound, James Bond (Sean Connery) and Ryder were put through a decontamination process, given blue robes, and shown to rooms that were prepared for them. As the first film in the extensive James Bond series, Dr. No paved the way for the future Bond franchise by introducing Connery as Bond and giving Andress her breakthrough role as the first ever Bond girl.

This three-quarter-length robe is made of a pale blue towelling material and features a blue plastic flower-shaped button at the collar. Accompanying the robe is a black-and-white glossy still of Andress wearing the robe and a typed and hand-signed letter of authenticity from Maggie Lewin, wardrobe assistant for Rank Films. In the letter, Lewin states that whilst working at Pinewood Studios in 1962 on another production, the wardrobe mistress of Dr. No, Eileen Sullivan, borrowed and repurposed Lewin's robe for use in the Bond film. This was then returned to her after filming was complete. The robe exhibits areas of brown staining from production use.
