INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY (2023) - Mercedes Car Driven by Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford)

A Mercedes car driven by Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) in James Mangold's action-adventure sequel Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. During the 1944-set opening sequence, a younger Indy stole a military staff car to break out of a Nazi stronghold, and engaged in a car chase with two motorcycles, which led to the car crashing and exploding as Indy made his escape on one of the bikes.

This black Mercedes 170 was one of two used for filming. Originally produced in the mid-to-late 1940s, it has been modified for the production, with several inches added in the rear footwell; extended rear doors; and a Perspex& reg; windscreen. It has also been reglazed and retrimmed. The engine is a modern Ford Zetec engine with a stunt fuel tank, while the car also features a drifting handbrake lever, a brown leather interior and rear-hinged (or "suicide") front doors.

The outside of the car retains dirt and grime from the production, and the shell has damage in several areas from the chase sequence, most notably on the front wheel arches. It is not currently street legal for use in the UK and is in the process of being UK registered. Dimensions: 452 cm x 160 cm x 160 cm (178" x 63" x 63")
