INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM (1984) - Sankara Stone

A Sankara stone from Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) fought to return the five sacred Sankara stones to Mayapore before they fell into Mola Ram's (Amrish Puri) clutches. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards& reg; and won the award for Best Visual Effects.

Two styles of stones were produced for the film: non-illuminating opaque versions for when the stones were at rest and semi-translucent illuminating versions for when the stones' magic would make them glow. This static, opaque, amber-colour resin stone, originally from the collection of Prop Master Barry Wilkinson, is textured to appear ancient with white horizontal stripes carved into the bottom. Its top exhibits chipping and bits of paper remain adhered to the base from production. Dimensions: 9 cm x 9 cm x 15.25 cm (3.5" x 3.5" x 6")

Estimate: GBP 20000 - 40000 OMEGA
