In black and olive silhouette, a mother and her son wave to the liner Kaiser Wilhelm II. Comparing the gouache maquette with the printed poster, we see that only the ship was totally redrawn, apparently to conform with the actual shape of the ship in question; otherwise the two foreground figures remain intact with the addition of the company logo. A very effective poster design by an unknown Belgian artist whose initials appear either to be “P. R.” or “F. R.”
