<b>SIR HENRY MOORE, Colonial Governor of New York during the Stamp Act crisis.</b>
Document Signed, as Governor, partially-printed and accomplished in manuscript, 1 page, 12.75' by 8.5', New York, October 11, 1768. Co-signed by the son and namesake of a Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Philip Livingston, Jr. With wafer seal intact; a little bit of age toning, but overall Choice Very Fine..Appointing Isaac Vrooman (1721-1807) a Captain of Jacob SternbergÕs Regiment of Schohary Militia in the service of the Crown. Vrooman was a surveyor, justice of the peace, a member of the Provincial Assembly and, after the Revolution, a member of the New York state assembly. He also served as the first mayor of Schenectady. A rich slaveholder , Vrooman owned over 100,000 acres in and around Schenectady - some of which he donated to create what is now Union College.
