REN… VINCENT (1879-1936)
179. L’Auto et La Mode.

Cond A. Framed.
#62 in a special hand-signed limited-edition run of 100 posters.
Ref: PAI-XXXII, 140
In addition to his work as a fashion illustrator and posterist, Vincent was almost a greater automobile enthusiast than he was an artist. In fact, Vincent was one of the first citizens to have a driver’s permit in France. When he built his home in the fashionable 16th arrondissement of Paris in 1911, it was one of the first houses in that city to have a garage built in. Here, though no specific make or model is singled out, Vincent indulges in his penchant for style and automotive excellence. He lived a life as elegant as the individuals who people his posters, and in this design, without using a single color more striking than sepia, he graphically shares his lifestyle with the world.
