HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (2001) - First Edition Softcover Book

A first edition softcover of J.K. Rowling's novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Published by Bloomsbury in 1997, The Philosopher's Stone became one of the best-selling books of all time, sparking a worldwide phenomenon centred around The Boy Who Lived.

This first edition softcover book features artwork by illustrator Thomas Taylor depicting Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 3/4 on the front and an unnamed eccentric wizard based on Taylor's father on the reverse. The book features a number of original facets including the full number line "10987654321," errors such as "Joanne Rowling" as the copyright owner, "Thomas Taylor1997'' without a space, and "1 wand" listed twice as the first and last item on the "Other Equipment" list on page 53. This lot exhibits a peeled cover, worn edges, minor tears along the edges and notable creases from use and age. Dimensions: 19.75 cm x 13.5 cm x 1.25 cm (7.75" x 5.25" x 0.5")
