HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (2001) - Uncorrected Proof Copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

An uncorrected proof copy of J.K. Rowling's novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. This was the first book in Rowling's Harry Potter series, which told the story of a young wizard and his adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It became one of the best-selling books of all time, sparking a worldwide phenomenon.

Proof copies sent to reviewers, bookshops and influencers to create a buzz around a book prior to publication. Approximately 200 copies of this proof were published in 1997, and this copy comes in its original white cover, with a yellow strip containing the title. It includes an error on the title page, with Rowling's name misspelt as "J.A. Rowling".

The lot is presented in a red Solander box, custom made by The Chelsea Bindery. The box features gilded text down the spine and is lined with red-coloured felt. The book displays light handling wear, with a crease down the front cover near the spine, and several small marks on the cover and the bottom of the page edges. Dimensions (in box): 22.25 cm x 15.5 cm x 3 cm (8 3/4" x 6" x 1 1/4")
