GHOSTBUSTERS (1984) - Stuart Ziff Collection: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man's (Bill Bryan) Red Tie - The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man's (Bill Bryan) red tie from Ivan Reitman's supernatural comedy Ghostbusters. After the Ghostbusters were told to choose the form of the destructor, Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) unintentionally thought of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man mascot, and unleashed a giant version of it onto New York City.

This foam tie comes from the collection of Ghost Shop creature effects supervisor Stuart Ziff. It is painted red and shaped to look like a sailor's necktie. It exhibits cracking, some discoloration, and rough ends where it would have connected to the underside of the collar.

This lot comes from the collection of effects pioneer Stuart Ziff. Upon moving to Edlund's Entertainment Effects Group (later renamed Boss Film Studios) in 1983, Ziff headed the 50-person "Ghost Shop" responsible for the groundbreaking demonic special effects in Ivan Reitman's comedy classic Ghostbusters. Numerous ghosts and spectral phenomena created for the picture, including the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man's costume, immediately landed in the American pop culture lexicon, where they've remained for nearly four decades. Propstore is proud to offer never-beforeseen production materials from Stuart Ziff's pioneering work on Ghostbusters, alongside other one-of-a-kind memorabilia from his 40-plus-year career as a Hollywood pioneer.
