GANGS OF NEW YORK (2002) - William "Bill the Butcher" Cutting's (Daniel Day-Lewis) Waistcoat and SFX Knife

William "Bill the Butcher" Cutting's (Daniel Day-Lewis) waistcoat and knife from Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York. Bill wore his assassin's waistcoat as a gesture of defiance later in the film.

This lot consists of a green and orange checked velour waistcoat lined with three layers of cotton fabric and hand-sewn with a black elastic band on the interior, as well as an SFX knife with a metal blade, wooden handle, and two metal prongs along the top edge designed to run a wire down for the shots where Bill throws his knives. The waistcoat is intentionally distressed by production with frayed fibres, discolouration, and loose buttons, and the knife exhibits worn wood and scratching from production. Dimensions: (knife) 4 cm x 3 cm x 34 cm (1.5" x 1" x 13.5")

Blade was dulled by production.

Estimate: GBP 4000 - 8000 OMEGA
