THE MUMMY (1999) - Canopic Jars and Lids

A set of canopic jars and lids from Stephen Sommers' fantasy adventure The Mummy. Canopic jars were seen in the film's opening scenes in Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead, when Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) was buried alive with flesh-eating scarabs.

The lot includes three hieroglyph-engraved jars, which are made of plaster, with an acrylic cylinder in each to maintain their shape. The jars are accompanied by eight plaster lids, two of which are shaped like jackal heads, three like human heads and three like monkey heads. The lot exhibits some chips, and some of the heads are missing ears. Dimensions (jar fitted with tallest lid): 11 cm x 11 cm x 28 cm (4 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 11")

Estimate: GBP 1000 - 2000 M
