STAR WARS: EPISODE VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Stuart Ziff Collection: Large Sarlacc Wart - A large sarlacc wart from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Jabba the Hutt sentenced Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and his friends to die by being cast into the Great Pit of Carkoon, where the sarlacc digested its victims over 1,000 years.

This foam wart comes from the collection of chief articulation engineer Stuart Ziff. Constructed by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), it is applied with a thin urethane skin painted red, orange, and brown and hand-labeled "April" and "Yuma, AZ" - where the Jabba's Palace sequence was filmed - in black marker. It exhibits bubbling and tears around the urethane's edges. Dimensions: 4.5" x 4.5" x 2.5" (11.5 cm x 11.5 cm x 6.5 cm)

This lot comes from the collection of effects pioneer Stuart Ziff. Upon moving to Edlund's Entertainment Effects Group (later renamed Boss Film Studios) in 1983, Ziff headed the 50-person "Ghost Shop" responsible for the groundbreaking demonic special effects in Ivan Reitman's comedy classic Ghostbusters. Numerous ghosts and spectral phenomena created for the picture, including the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man's costume, immediately landed in the American pop culture lexicon, where they've remained for nearly four decades. Propstore is proud to offer never-beforeseen production materials from Stuart Ziff's pioneering work on Ghostbusters, alongside other one-of-a-kind memorabilia from his 40-plus-year career as a Hollywood pioneer.
