STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) - Hand-Drawn Joe Johnston Early Snowspeeder Concept Sketch - An early snowspeeder concept sketch hand-drawn by visual effects art director Joe Johnston for the production of Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Rebel pilots flew their snowspeeders throughout the Battle of Hoth, including when Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) used his to take down an Imperial AT-AT.

This early sketch depicting back and side views of a snowspeeder is rendered in mixed media on paper labeled "0003" and signed by Johnston in the bottom left corner. The paper exhibits discolored and bent corners from age and handling. Dimensions: 8.5" x 11" (21.75 cm x 28 cm)
