JAMES BOND: GOLDENEYE (1995) - Hand-drawn Syd Cain Handprint Device Designs

Hand-drawn Syd Cain handprint designs from the production of Martin Campbell's Bond film GoldenEye. Eminent art director and production designer Syd Cain worked on many Bond films, including Dr. No and On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and is credited as a storyboard artist on GoldenEye. Cain also worked with Alfred Hitchcock as the production designer on Frenzy. These sketches originally came from Cain's personal archives.

The lot comprises two hand-drawn concept designs for the Handprint Device on the Severnaya satellite control centre. The designs are cut out and adhered to a black cardboard panel, along with a piece of paper that explains how the device should work. Cain's name, a reference number and a label for the design are handwritten on the panel in white pencil. Dimensions (largest sketch): 42 cm x 29 cm (16 1/2" x 11 1/2")
