JAMES BOND: LICENCE TO KILL (1989) - Peter Nelson Collection: Milton Krest's (Anthony Zerbe) SFX Head

Milton Krest's (Anthony Zerbe) SFX head from John Glen's Bond movie Licence to Kill. Krest was killed by drug lord Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi) inside a decompression chamber when Sanchez turned up the pressure valve and then ruptured the vent. The rapid decompression caused Krest's head to violently explode.

Created by special effects supervisor John Richardson based on a mould of Zerbe's face, the head is made of foam latex with an airbrush finish. Hair has been applied to represent eyebrows, eyelashes, a moustache and a receding mane, and the head also features ceramic teeth and acrylic eyes. The latex is glued to a wooden base featuring a metal valve, into which air could be pumped to create the effect of Krest's head expanding. There is a small tear in the latex at the bridge of the nose and a 4 cm hole in the wooden base. Dimensions: 41 cm x 47 cm x 21 cm (16" x 18 1/2" x 8 1/2")

From the personal collection of Peter Nelson, previously displayed at his two museums, "The Cars of the Stars" and "The Bond Museum" in Keswick, Cumbria, until they closed in 2011.

Estimate: GBP 1000 - 2000 M
