JAMES BOND: OCTOPUSSY (1983) - Gobinda's (Kabir Bedi) Sabre with Elephant Hilt

Gobinda's (Kabir Bedi) sabre from John Glen's Bond film Octopussy. Gobinda wielded an elephant-hilted sabre against Bond (Roger Moore) during a circus train sequence, decapitating a gorilla suit and then pursuing Bond along the train roof.

The sword is made of aluminium and has a curved blade with a dulled edge and an ornate quillon block. The hilt is intricately engraved in the style of an elephant, featuring eyes, ears, a headdress and a wrinkled tusk. The head of the elephant forms the pommel of the sword and the tusk forms the knuckle guard. Some indented sections of the hilt have darkened through oxidation. Dimensions: 86 cm x 12.5 cm x 4 cm (34" x 5" x 1 1/2")

Estimate: GBP 1000 - 2000 M
