HUGO (2011) - Automaton Head

An automaton head from Martin Scorsese's family adventure film Hugo. Hugo (Asa Butterfield) rebuilt the automaton after his Father (Jude Law) found it in the attic of the museum where he worked. Prop makers and effects specialists Dick George Creatives created 15 automatons for the production.

The head is predominantly made of resin and metal, with its black eyes rendered from glass. A metal hatch at the bottom of the head can be opened to reveal a string mechanism that ascends to the top of the internal chamber. The lot exhibits a single crack on the right side of the head, at the back by the neck. Dimensions: 15 cm x 12 cm x 10 cm (6" x 4 3/4" x 4")

Estimate: GBP 2000 - 4000 M
