Political
1897 Pro-McKinley, Anti-Bryan Mechanical Campaign Medal, Extremely Fine.
37 mm (roughly the same size as a U.S. Silver Dollar). Nice and lustrous. The back is slightly warped such that all three pieces rotate against each other. In the normal position, the eagle on the fron appears with outstretched wings and its head held high. The motto above reads I’M ALL RIGHT and the patent date of July 27, 1897 appears below. By rotating the loop to the right, the eagle’s head droops and the motto changed to WHERE AM I AT? The same situation occurs on the reverse. When in the normal position, the legends read: GOLD STANDARD MEANS A DOLLAR WORTH 100 CENTS, MACK, TEDDY & PROSPERITY. Rotate the loop and the legends change to: FREE SILVER MEANS A DOLLAR WORTH 50 CENTS, BRYANARCHY AND STEVENSON. These mechanical pieces are always popular and in demand.
