"La Reina - Los Angeles in Three Centuries" published in 1929 to commemorate the 40 anniversary of the Security Trust & Savings Bank of Los Angeles, written by Laurance L. Hill, publicity manager. The book contains three centuries of historical information about the City of Los Angeles, including numerous photographs of prominent people, significant places, and major events that shaped the history of "the Queen of the Angels." Also in this lot are more than two dozen black and white photographs mounted on stiff cardboard that record events in and around Los Angeles at the turn of the century. Notable is the return of military personnel from the Spanish American War with images of the armory decked out in patriotic bunting and pictures of soldiers in uniform. Lastly is a "Souvenir Photo from Paris Inn, Bert Rovere, the Host of the Coast" with a black and white photograph inside of two unnamed men at a table, dated 1943, both looking like they would rather not have had their picture taken.
