Both volumes are cocked. Light browning at the edges, else a near fine copy of this very interesting memoir.<BR><BR>A vivid account of Roberts's military career from his involvement in the India Mutiny within months of his arrival in India, to the Second Afghan War of 1879-80, where he commanded the British forces in the defeat of the Afghan Army at Kandahar, from the saddle, taking occasional sips of champagne to keep up his strength.
