Henry W. Longfellow Autograph Letter Signed "Henry W. Longfellow", two pages, 4.25" x 7", Cambridge, Massachusetts, October 31, 1864, to unknown recipient, it reads: "Many thanks for your kind note, and your suggestions about 'Enigma' and the 'Spanish Main', in which you are quite right at all events in regard to the first. I send you another list of swords, so far as I remember them; more than you asked; and I may as well give the whole over again. Let me thank you again for your 'Vocabulary'. It is work sin generis; see the flowers from the fields mingle together. I anticipate great success for it." Framed with engraved portrait to an overall 17" x 13". Old tape residue along a portion of the left margin, some foxing. Good condition. An especially nice by Longfellow in that it actually discusses poetry.

Shipping: Framed - with Glass, Small (view shipping information)
