Neolithic period Long Shan yellow jade with abstract humanoid representation seen from both angular sides. It is axe-shaped with a curved pointed end and a central beveled perforation. On the apical portion there is a small round perforation. The surface is well polished and the carving was done in an yellow jade with brown speckles. This is a rather large Neolithic jade carving of very interesting shape and rare. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of the collectors' textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors". Estimated value: $3.500.
