<B>E dgar S. Paxson: With a Full-Page Inscription from this Highly-Regarded Western Artist in: Cyrus Townsend Brady: <I>A Baby of the Frontier.</B></I></B></I> Illustrated. (New York: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1915 ). First edition. Inscribed by Montana artist E.S. Paxson on the recto of the frontispiece illustration and filling the entire page, relating how he gave this book to his friend J.H. Kennedy on his deathbed, and how much he read and the impact the book had in Kennedy's last days. Also with a couple of margin notes by Paxson. Octavo (8” x 5”). 286, 2, publisher's catalog pp. Illustrated. Publisher's illustrated cloth, stamped in white and black. Covers with light wear, front free endpaper excised, Paxson's ink ownership stamp in three places, hinges cracking but still sound, stains to rear endpapers and to some fore-edge margins of the sheets. Altogether, a very good copy with a wonderful inscription by Paxson that reads like a short story. Considered Montana's pioneer artist, Edgar S. Paxson lived in Montana from 1877 until his death in 1919.
