This is an example of a professionally refurbished Colt Thuer style Conversion London Pocket Model 1849 revolver with matching percussion cylinder and complete five-piece Thuer cartridge loading fixture. The revolver has a high polish blue finish on the barrel, trigger guard, back strap and both five-shot cylinders. The loading lever, frame and hammer have a case hardened finish. The one-piece walnut grips have a high gloss, piano finish. The right side of the barrel lug has the modified loading channel found on Thuer conversions. The revolver has the iron trigger guard and back strap, rounded screw heads and bordered hammer spur knurling that are typical of London Model 1849 Pocket revolvers. Both cylinders are roll-engraved with the Stagecoach Holdup scene and "COLTS PATENT". British "Crown/V" and "Crown/CP" inspection and proof marks are stamped on the left side of the barrel lug, above each chamber on both cylinders and on the rear face of the Thuer conversion ring. The full serial number "9001" is stamped on the loading lever, wedge, cylinder arbor pin, the bottom of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard and back strap and on both cylinders. All of the visible serial numbers match. The assembly number, "57" is stamped on the rear face of the Thuer conversion ring and on the rear face of the conversion cylinder. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with the two-line legend "{ADDRESS COL COLT:/LONDON:}". "COLTS/PATENT" is roll-stamped in two lines on the left side of the frame. "31 CAL" is roll-stamped on the left shoulder of the trigger guard. The conversion ring ejector flat is hand-engraved with a script "E". "PAT. SEP/15 1868" is stamped in two lines on the conversion ring to the left of the ejector flat. The Thuer cartridge loading fixture is stamped with the revolver serial number "9001" and British view and proof marks. Thuer conversion revolvers are the rarest and most sought after Colt cartridge conversions. Model 1849 Pocket Revolvers are the rarest of the Colt Thuer conversions.
BBL: 6.0 inch octagon

Gauge: 31
Finish: blue/case hardened
Grips: walnut

The walnut grip is in excellent condition although the varnish has some minor crazing cased by long contact with a case. The rare Thuer cartridge loading fixture and other components are in the same excellent condition as the revolver.
