London Bowie knife by Wilkinson. Approx. 12-1/8” overall, with 8-1/8” dagger blade. Blade has a small etched panel marked “Shakespear knife, Wilkinson London”. Blade edge is fine with full tip. Discoloration on both sides of the blade. On the back side of the blade is “186” which is attributed to the Bob Ables collection. The hilt shows a wasted checkered hardwood with three iron pins and checkered pommel. Oval iron crossguard with the number stamping “16720”. Original leather-covered wood sheath with checkered leather veneer en suite to the handle. Iron button and retaining clip locks into notch in the hilt. Light scuffing to sheath with slight loss at the tip. Circa approx. 1870’s. Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $1,000 - $2,000
