Brilliant vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Chaney with a furtive smile, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To my dear friend Robert F. Roden, with best wishes, Lon Chaney.” Reverse bears a "James Card Collection" stamp. In very good to fine condition, with moderate signature contrast, some small surface impressions, a very short tear to the left edge, and some trivial loss to the borders. James Card (1915–2000) was a film preservationist who established the motion picture collection at George Eastman House, one of the major moving image archives in the United States.
