Lladro Porcelain Sculpture A Sunday Drive with Base 1001510
Lladro limited edition porcelain figurine titled A Sunday Drive, model number 1510, also known as Coche de Antano. This large-scale polychrome glazed porcelain group was sculpted by Salvador Debon and decorated by J. Ruiz. The piece is a numbered edition, identified as number 799. The scene depicts a man and woman in an early 20th-century open-top automobile or horseless carriage. The male figure is seated at the steering tiller wearing a newsboy-style cap and driving coat, while the female figure sits beside him in a hat and coat holding a white parasol. The composition includes two dogs: a Dalmatian leaping at the front right wheel and a Collie seated at the rear left. The vehicle features detailed side lanterns, a folding carriage top, a rear trunk, and a license plate reading LL-86-E. The underside of the porcelain base bears the blue Lladro stamp, Hand Made in Spain, and Daisa 1986. It also features the incised model number 1510 and the signatures of the sculptor and decorator. A black marker inscription on the underside reads To Jean, followed by the signature of Juan Lladro and the date 5-26-95. The figurine is mounted on a fitted oval wooden base with a mahogany finish and a gold-tone Lladro plaque.
