This Lladro porcelain basset hound figurine, item number 01001066, features a classic stance with long drooping ears and soulful eyes that reflect the breed's gentle nature. It is marked with the Third Lladro Mark used from 1971 to 1974, the company's first use of a blue printed backstamp. This bellflower, or tulip, mark is more intricate than later versions and was stamped without the accent over the O, consistent with early brand styling. While not as rare as some of Lladro's more stylized animal forms from the same period, this is still a desirable early example with hand-applied color blending and character. Measures approximately 8.5"L x 4.5"H.
