Liability for defects

All objects are sold as they are. Prospective buyers should themselves make sure of the quality and condition of the object before the auction. Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS does not under any circumstances accept any liability for natural wear and tear, minor damages and defects etc. Clocks, clockwork and instruments etc are sold as objects of art with no guarantee of their technical function. Complaints regarding defects for which Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS may be responsible must be made as soon as possible and no later than 30 days after the auction. If correction is not performed within a reasonable time, the buyer has the right to cancel the purchase and, having returned the object, receive the amount paid. The buyer is not entitled to any further compensation. <p>
Disputes

Disputes concerning these terms shall be settled in accordance with Norwegian law at a court in Norway.<p>
BIDDING
<p>
General
<p>
The highest bidder shall be the buyer at the hammer price. Any person bidding on the behalf of another party shall be liable for completion of the sale. In the event of equal bids or disputes that may arise during the bidding the auctioneer alone will decide which bid confers the right of purchase. The auctioneer is entitled to disregard bids from any unreliable bidder and to determine whether bidding shall be resumed owing to doubt concerning the last bid. The auctioneer is also entitled to decide the minimum increment of the bids. At the request of Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS bidders shall be able to document their ability to pay and to provide proof of their identity at any time. <p>
By person
<p>
Bidding should be made in a clear voice or by unambiguous sign, preferably by using a numbered paddle, which may be obtained from Customer Service before the auction. <p>
By telephone or via internet
<p>
Telephone bidding and bidding over internet is possible within conditions made out by Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS. Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS is not to be held responsible for any mistakes or errors that may occur using these services. <p>
By commission
<p>
Written bids for a specified object are accepted up to 1 hour before the auction starts. The same time limit applies for changes or withdrawals of a submitted bid. When bidding commissions are submitted, acceptable references and proper identification of the buyer may be requested unless he already has a reference number with us. Bidding assignments are free of charge. Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS treats bidding assignments confidentially and bids as favourable as possible on behalf of the buyer. However, Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS is not liable for any loss that the client may be caused if Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS fails to carry out the bidding assignment. It is up to the customer to find out whether his bid resulted in a purchase. <p>
PAYMENT
<p>
Purchase price
<p>
The purchase price shall be the hammer price plus a buyer's premium of 20 % including Norwegian VAT. On fine arts there is additional 3 % to NKHF ( funds for norwegian artists) . Payment may be made in cash, by cheque or VISA/MasterCard. <p>
Cash
<p>
Payment in full is due immediately after the hammer has fallen and should be paid to Customer Service. <p>
COLLECTION OF PURCHASES
<p>
Standard
<p>Objects purchased and paid for may be collected immediately, but no later than 3 days after the auction. <p>
Delay
<p>
A storage fee will be charged for lots which have not been collected within 1 month after the auction. <p>
Dispatch
<p>
Tordenskiold Auksjoner AS can arrange for international shipping either through mail, parcel mail or J.P. Strom Shipping AS in Trondheim. For this the customer will pay a fee of NOK 150,- plus the actual shipping cost.<p>
