Australian military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured circa 1920. Features a blued/parkerized finish, 25.2" barrel, raised patridge front sight, shrouded leaf type rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, metal nosecap with bayonet lug & protective front sight ears, single barrel band, serrated trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, charge loading bridge on the receiver, smooth wood hand guard, full-length forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass trapdoor buttplate containing an oiler. The right side of the butt socket is marked "A" inside a seven pointed star/"LITHGOW/SHT.LE/III*" inside a shield & "1920." Serial numbers match on the receiver, barrel and rear sight. Rifle retains approximately 70% of it's finish showing wear and thinning on the blued parts. Action is smooth, the bore is good with a small amount of moderate pitting and the wood stocks are near good with a portion of the handguard missing around the rear sight.
