Lindsey 2-shot pocket pistol made by Union Knife Company Naugatuc, CT. Circa 1860’s, 4” octagon barrel, with fluted top rib, .41 caliber, nicely engraved frame, beautifully engraved barrel which is standard on this model of which only approx 500-700 were estimated to have been produced. The derringer fired superposed loads through a dual capped breech, activated by two hammers and one trigger. Refer Flayderman 7C-021. The revolver remains in very good plus original condition showing 60% finish on right, 30% on left, drifting to patina with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. Good sharp markings, including Young America and beautiful lion, eagle, and stand of flags that are engraved on left breech. The frame shows a medium to dark honey patina and is uncleaned and at least very good. The stocks are good to very good with a small loss at the right toe, approx 50% varnish, some scratches, storage marks, and one or two deeper scratches. The action is working, pistol is a little lose on the breech pin. Serial #421, with good strong 1859 and 1860 patent date on bottom side of barrel. From the Robert Petersen Collection.
