American actress (1923–1965) who appeared in such classics as Forever Amber, Unfaithfully Yours, and A Letter to Three Wives. With the decline of her career in the early 1950s, she turned increasingly to alcohol and died in a house fire at the age of 41. Seductive vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 portrait, signed and inscribed in red ballpoint “For my dear, wonderful Gene—Just because I love you, because you make me look like this! All my affection, always—Linda 1946.” In fine condition, with slight corner bends. According to the consignor, this image with its lengthy inscription was originally presented to photographer Gene Kornman. An attractive pose from the grateful star.
