American actress (1923–1965) who appeared in such classics as Forever Amber, Unfaithfully Yours, and A Letter to Three Wives. With the decline of her career in the early 1950s, she turned increasingly to alcohol and died in a house fire at the age of 41. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 20th Century Fox publicity photo of Darnell in an elegant gown, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, With sincere wishes from Linda Darnell.” Light overall haloing to signature and inscription, a couple light edge creases, and some staining near top of image, inherent to original negative, otherwise fine condition.
