Lincoln Mourning Crepe
"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
Incredibly rare strip of black crepe worn by Admiral C.H. Eldredge while he stood as Guard of Honor from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 25 April 1865 at City Hall in New York where President Lincoln lay in state. Crepe measures 3' 3'' x 6''. With excellent provenance including official partly printed document from ''Headquarters Department of the East'' assigning Eldredge to the guard detail.
