(Ill.), April 1857, two and one-quarter pages, folio, on blue paper. In the case of Canfield vs Short, the defendant admits having contracted to sell about 125 acres for $20 per acre, but claims that Caldwell never paid "<I>any part of the consideration</B></I>", and that he never said "<I>that his money was ready at Mr. Burns as alleged</B></I>." Further claiming that he was never a tenant of Canfield and that no extension of time was ever granted, Short asks to be dismissed with his costs. Very fine appearance. <I>From the Henry E.
