<B>Lincoln Law Partner William Henry Herndon.</B></I> Autograph Document Signed <I>"Lincoln & Herndon Sol. For Complt."</B></I> Sangamon Co., Ill., Feb. 1860, two pages, folio. A bill for divorce in which Amasa Booth charges his wife Matilda with prostitution. Booth states that he was married in Sangamon County in November 1858, at which time he <I>"believed and hoped that said Matilda was a chaste & virtuous woman..."</B></I> Soon afterward he left for California to make money for their support, whereupon Matilda started keeping <I>"a bad house"</B></I> where she had <I>"illegal connection with some persons…and has continually pursued said wrongful, illegal & unchaste conduct"</B></I> committing <I>"adultery & fornication or one or the other…without the connivance or consent"</B></I> of her husband. $1,500-2,000 From the Henry E.
